I find it interesting that so many people would slander one of our own, one who professes faith in Christ Jesus of the Bible. Not by his works but by his faith through the grace of God.
We really need to be rejoicing when we talk about the things of God as believers. I ask the question why are we so quick to judge our brother without asking him ourselves.
Lets look at what the Bible says about this:
Lev. 19:16 “Do not spread slanderous gossip among your people.
“Do not stand idly by when your neighbor’s life is threatened. I am the Lord.
Psalm 101:5 I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors.
I will not endure conceit and pride.
Eph 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Jam 4:11 Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.
Matt 7:3-5 3 “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eyet when you have a log in your own? 4 How can you think of saying to your friend,t ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.
Should we not approach our brother with love as Jesus commanded and speak to him ourselves, instead of listening to what others say? Or listening to conspiracy theorist. Are Rob Bell, Francis Chan, and Rick Warren not bringing people to Jesus? Do they not preach about the one true Jesus of the Bible?
